Grip and Footwork

The Grip- Shake hands with the racket The point of the ‘V’ between the index finger and the thumb should be in line with the inside edge of the shaft so that the forehand racket-face is naturally slightly open. Keep your wrist cocked throughout. Do not flap it around! Keep your racket head up (higher than your wrist). Keep your forefinger extended above your thumb. This helps your control.
Footwork- Your weight should always be on your front foot. Step into the ball. Do not stand too close to the ball. Stand still when playing the ball. Maintain your balance. Rather move 2 Steps backwards and then move 1 step forward than just standing still and waiting for the ball. By doing this you will be the correct distance from the ball.
